Kiaora Ashleigh, I enjoyed your post and agree that putting the 4Cs - communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity - at the fore-front of our lesson planning is crucial if you actually want to develop our learners so that they are ready for the future unknown. Many of us are in, or have been in, the same boat of developing a lesson plan or unit plan and then sticking to it to ensure that we are ahead of the students in their learning and also confident about what they are capable of achieving it the set time frame but I if we really want to be able to say that students are directing the learning then we have to let go of the reigns a little and simply be ready and willing to support them in their journey. We also need to be capable of enriching the learning experiences by seeing what possible outcomes could fruition from their discovery and experimentation. PS - you have a beautiful site. All the best for the final days of your Post Grad. Nga mihi, Shanon
